Lucifer wakes nightmare-free. A rough day at work. An outlet that turns stress into strikes — and a rivalry that makes everything better.
Lucifer woke up at a regular time and had his breakfast as a normal thing. He realised he hadn't gotten any nightmare the night before. He slept over 8 hours without any distraction or fear. The moment when he had shared his scared moments with Victoria — and she had helped him through it — she had pushed him from zero to a hundred percent. All things had returned to normal position, including the fear.
A person who stands very lonely — who has lived alone for years — will undergo psychic phenomena: their mind constantly working like a machine, creating visuals they cannot speak about without hesitation. The loneliest people are often the sharpest. Nobody knows what an introvert can do.
Lucifer logged into his office laptop, took the call, completed work with his manager, and submitted everything on time. The manager reviewed and raised a comment — one part of execution was missing, corrections needed before resubmission. Lucifer tested the code again. No errors found.
Due to the manager's behaviour, his frustration level reached a peak. He could not find what was missing — yet the correction demand stood. He decided to wait until sign-out time so he could release his frustration by playing an online game. The arena was waiting. The enemies would pay.
"Every enemy that appeared before him took on the visage of his manager — and with each strike, he felt a surge of satisfaction."
— Game On · Chapter IVAs Nightshade, Lucifer felt the familiar rush of adrenaline joining Victoria's Starfire in their virtual battleground. Today his mind was still tangled with the frustrations of his day — but that tension became fuel. Every keystroke flew with renewed vigour.
They had often played cooperatively, but tonight they decided to inject some friendly competition into their gameplay. Each enemy was a target for their skills, racing to see who could claim the most kills. Victoria was not one to back down — "Impressive, but I can do better."
"That was one of our best runs," Victoria said. "But I think I still edged you out in overall kills," Lucifer replied, a wide grin on his face. "In your dreams, Nightshade," Victoria retorted playfully. Their banter kept the mood light and enjoyable — the combination of challenge, competition, and camaraderie had turned an ordinary evening into a memorable adventure.
As he set his phone down and climbed into bed, Lucifer felt a sense of peace wash over him. Despite the daily stresses, he knew he had a friend who understood and supported him. With thoughts of their gaming adventures and the promise of future plans, he drifted off to sleep.
