Lucifer wakes from a world of lifeless bodies and mournful cries. The nightmare lingers. But so does Victoria.
Lucifer's nightmare began in a desolate, shadowy landscape. He found himself in a vast, barren field under a dark, oppressive sky. The air was heavy with a haunting stillness, broken only by the distant echoes of mournful wails.
The bodies, covered in tattered sheets, were gently lifted and transported by ghostly figures. The sky seemed to weep alongside the people — dark, swirling clouds casting an eerie, gravy light over the scene. Each cry pierced the heavy silence, resonating with a deep, emotional pain that Lucifer could feel in his very bones.
He tried to move, but his legs felt leaden — as if the weight of the grief around him was pulling him down. He stumbled forward, seeking some form of solace, but the more he walked, the more the field seemed to stretch endlessly. Desperate to escape, he turned and ran, but the mournful wails followed him like a relentless, shadowy tide.
"He could feel the weight of the sorrow pressing down on him, making each step feel impossibly heavy."
— The Mourning Veil · Lucifer's NightmareJust as the intensity reached its peak, Lucifer woke with a start. His heart raced, and sweat drenched his brow. The room was bathed in the dim, reassuring light of early morning — but the echoes of the cries and the sight of the faceless figures lingered.
The usual morning routine seemed almost unbearable. The thought of diving into office work felt like an insurmountable task. Every keystroke and every click of the mouse seemed to be a reminder of his exhaustion — the nightmares had sapped his motivation and left him feeling emotionally drained.
He found himself staring at his computer screen, struggling to concentrate on tasks that usually came easily to him. The weight of the dream's despair made the prospect of a productive day seem almost unreachable.
Lucifer sat down to play the game with Victoria, trying to immerse himself in the familiar virtual world. But the images and emotions from the dream clung to him. His actions were mechanical and unenthusiastic — he missed crucial moves, his responses delayed. The joy he usually found in their gaming sessions seemed absent.
Victoria noticed the change in his demeanour. She could see the tension in his movements and the distraction in his responses. While she observed his uncharacteristic behaviour, she chose not to interrupt or pry — understanding that something significant might be troubling him, she waited patiently.
"Victoria," he typed hesitantly, "can I talk to you about something serious? I've been struggling with something since last night."
"I had a nightmare. It was so intense and real. I can't stop thinking about it. It's affecting me a lot, even now while we're playing."
"It started in a dark, desolate landscape. The sky was an eerie, oppressive grey, and the air felt thick, almost suffocating. As I walked through this barren wasteland, I began to see bodies — so many bodies, lying lifeless on the ground."
"The cries, Victoria. The cries were the worst part. They were everywhere, filling the air with a chorus of grief and despair. It felt like the sorrow of a thousand souls was pressing down on me."
After finishing his conversation with Victoria, Lucifer lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. The echoes of his nightmare still lingered — but Victoria's empathetic words had sparked something within him. A determination to push through the fear.
"Alright, Lucifer," he murmured to himself, "you can do this." He thought about the faceless figures and the mournful cries, and instead of succumbing to the dread, he resolved to face it head-on. "This is just a dream — a manifestation of my mind. It doesn't control me."
"I have creative outlets — the stories I want to write, the worlds I want to build."
// lucifer's affirmation i"I have a supportive friendship with Victoria. I don't carry this alone."
// lucifer's affirmation ii"I've faced challenges before, and I've come out stronger each time. This is no different."
// lucifer's affirmation iii"Tomorrow is a new day — a chance to rise above this."
// lucifer's affirmation ivIn the last few days, Lucifer had been having a bunch of nightmares — but the latest one seemed too ridiculous to be scared of. Still, he ended up feeling super tense, sweating from fear. He has a habit of thinking about things that don't even exist, making up his own problems and getting really scared. Probably something to do with the way he'd always been a loner — and never shared his feelings with anyone.
Until now.
"With determination and the support of friends like Victoria, he could overcome anything — even the darkest corners of his own mind."
